i was born in 1965, the same year that malcolm x was assassinated.

my father had committed suicide a few months into my mother's pregnancy so we lived with her parents until she married again when i was about 18 months old.

I just don't get it. This is going off the topic a bit. Merry posted this thread and many of the post are respectful, posters asking questions and giving their own opinion. Some were encouraging and others were critical, but respectful. I have over the last few months read many posts where Christians have tried to express their thoughts and were shot down and mocked. I don't understand why a muslim post gets this kind of dingity (which I feel is awesome) and a christian post gets regected by most. Why not give everyone this kind of response, are we hanging on to WBTS double standards?

I carry an ID card, it proudly reads "organ donor". The whole world needs to start seeing JW's as a cult. I for one amd going to start an active ministry in South Africa exposing the WBTS. Those of you who pray, now will be a good time to get hubby and I onto that prayer list.

My mom wants me to go to memorial

ever since i can remember i have attended the memorial only for my mothers sake though.

i am not a jw nor do i have any desire to ever become one but i know it means alot to my mom.

although now i have been enlightened on many things about her religion that i do not want any part of and i do not want to go.

Go and use it as an opportunity to ask her some questions about her beliefs that will make her think. Always try to plant that little seed of doubt. You could ask her why she doesn't partake and doesn't Jesus tell us all to do this?

Disfellowshipped? does your family still speak to you?

i have been disfellowshipped for 7 years and my grandfather refuses to eat with me.

there teachings are to love one another but this is not the case.

does anyone else have this problem.

High impact ideas disproving the WTS

if you had to explain to a non jehovah's witness or even to a jehovah's witness (better called watchtower's witness) the reasons why the wt religion is not worth being with, and why it is worthy of disapproval, what would your high impact arguments be?

if someone asked why is that religion not good, why are you accusing it?

Only partake if you believe that you are one of the 144 000 and that the rest of the JW in your congo are going to be in paradise earth. If you no longer believe in any of these things why on earth would you want to partake in a KH? If you have a real desire to partake because of you convictions then you could always do this at home. Only stir the sh*% pot if you are ready for the smell it will give off.

Every true Christian would agree that we should follow the commands of God. In Mk 9:7, God the Father commands us to listen to Jesus. Do you follow this command and listen to Jesus? After all, Jesus died for your personal sins (1Jn 2:2, 1Pet 2:24). Jesus tells us to go directly to him (Mt 11:28-30), and the Father commanded us to listen to Jesus. Why? Because JESUS gives us everlasting life (Jn 10:28), and so that JESUS will enter our house and be with us and give us the right to sit on his throne (Rev 3:20- 21). Do you pray to Jesus as Paul and the early Christians did (1Cor 1:2)? Do you partake of the flesh of Christ as Jesus commanded (Jn 6:51)? If not, then are you following the command of the Father who said "Listen to him"
